Alaska Softball Associations

Softball in Alaska starts in Ketchikan and spreads all the way up to Barrow. Because of the huge expanse covered, Southeast Alaska and the rest of the state operate as seperate entities. Currently supports two national softball associations, the Amatuer Softball Association (ASA) has been around for over 30 years and the National Softball Association (NSA) is relatively new.

Big changes from the 2007 ASA State Meeting

On Oct. 20th ASA held their annual state meeting in Anchorage. Representatives from Anchorage, Fairbanks, Kenai, Homer, Mat-Su and Southeast were in attendance. During the state meeting members tackle classification, state and invitaional tournament schedules, proposed codes changes and more. I just wanted all Mens C players from ASA to know as of now I will be representing our league in all future local softball meetings,so if any of you have any questions,concerns,comments,or ideas to make the association better,please feel free to approach me at anytime.Those issues will be talked about and addressed at the following meeting,and I will get back to you a soon as I can.
