Anchorage Sports is offering two new leagues this summer, here are the details:
Mens Masters: 6 teams of 40+ players. Must turn 40 in the 2008 calendar year to qualify.
Wood Bat League: 6 teams that want to play using wood bats exclusively.

If you may be interested in playing or putting together a team please call Don Brooks at 562-1504.

This year there will only be a coed snowshoe tournament during Fur Rondy, it will be Feb. 23-24. Cost is $225, games will be played at the Kosinski fields in midtown and players have to wear the snowshoes provided. For more information contact Donnie at Anchorage Sports, 562-1504.

Here are the specifics on our May 19-20 Coed Tourney in Anchorage:
a.) Hope to have three divisions based on participation, B-C comp, D and E
b.) 4 game guarantee with two games round robin and double elimination bracket
c.) Custom plaques for first through third
d.) Tournament MVP shirts, Allstars and shirts for the champions
e.) Three pick-up players per team
f.) Games at the Cartee complex
g.) To sign-up please see your local assocaition, they will handled your sign-up fee ($225) and coorrdinate with Anchorage Sports, deadline is May 15th

Anchorage associations added a few new softball options for 2007:

Anchorage Sports (ASA)
Men's Masters -- A league for Men's teams where players are 40+. Will be playing on Tuesdays or Thursdays and tournaments will also be available.
Men's Wood Bat League -- A Friday night league for you guessed it, wood bats. Tournaments will also be available and bats will be provided in the inaugural season.

Anchortown Sports (NSA)
Women's E -- Their first Women's league will include a State tournament in August.
